A nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Perth is around Herdsman Lake, just north of the city. The lake has playgrounds, paths for walking and cycling, geocaches, and wildlife. Today we were bird hunting and were delighted to see a few new and some old favourites. There were squillions of Willy Wagtails, loads of Magpies and Crows, Ducks, Purple Swamp Hens, Swans, Australian Ibis, Egrets, Pelicans, Herons, Kookaburras, Cormorants, Wattle Birds, Coots, a couple of raptors and my top 4, a Welcome Swallow, a flock of Black Ibis, Tawny Frog Mouth and a Spoonbill.
