Welcome to Malta, where hopefully the accommodation sets the scene for a beautiful 3 days and 4 nights.

Having determined the local cocktail is called a Maltese spritz, we set off through our local streets in search of the ingredients.

When in Malta it would be rude not to indulge.

With the lounge moved on to the balcony, we are set for a lovely visit.

Thanks for the warm welcome Sliema.
What better way to spend a Sunday than a couple of walks. Firstly through Sliema to the ferry (make sure you have cash) bound for Valetta.

First impressions are it’s very Lisbon-like.

Our guided walking tour highlighted the beauty of this honey coloured city.

The homes in Valetta are often pretty.

Despite, or in spite of the pigeons, the public statues and art works enlighten the visitor.

Our self guided mystery tour (Questo) really impressed the magnitude of the walls that have protected Valetta for centuries.

And just like that, we have >20,000 steps and I have two blisters!
After a change of shoes, we headed out in Suzie Citroen to visit the village of Siggiewi, with yet another expansive church glowing in the late afternoon sun.

Our little car ride wrapped up at the Dingli Cliffs to watch the sunset into the Mediterranean Sea.

Back on the balcony we were very fortunate to have a front row seat to the celebration fireworks again! Who knew the 8th of September is the Feast of Our Lady of Victories, celebrating the three major victories in Malta’s history? Not us!
Public holiday Monday feels in Malta are the same as Australia. Everyone out and about in the sun, including us.
The ferry to Gozo is simple – just drive on, travel over, explore, and buy a ticket at the gate on the way back!
Xewkija is ideal for a light lunch with a nice view.

Time for some kayaking fun from Gozo to Camino and back. Watch out for the rocks!

A little island tour thanks to Chatty, and home for a super-late dinner and yet more celebrations.

Every Tuesday that’s starts with eggs is a good Tuesday.

Tuesday is also a good day to visit Mdina, the Old Capital. There’s a good multi geocache that takes a spin through the lane ways.

Back home, there was just enough time for a beer and kebab. See ya next time Malta. You were a great place to hang out for a while.
